Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Exeter, Devon is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs across local schools. The role is full-time, term-time only, 8:30am–3:30pm, with a daily pay rate of £95–£105.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, assist with EHCPs/IEPs and behaviour support, promote inclusion and emotional wellbeing, and collaborate with teachers and the SENCo. Relevant SEND experience is desirable, training provided.

Teaching Personnel is an approved GCA supplier, working with schools across the Southwest, and we’re recruiting caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a range of supportive schools across Exeter and the surrounding areas.

• Role: SEND Teaching Assistant
• Pay Rate: £95–£105 per day
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

The Role

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, adapting learning to individual needs
• Assist in delivering EHCPs, IEPs and behaviour support plans
• Promote inclusion, independence and positive social interaction
• Support emotional wellbeing, communication and behaviour regulation
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCo and wider support staff

We’re Looking For

• Previous SEND experience (desirable but not essential)
• Transferable experience, such as care work, youth work, psychology or family SEND experience
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A genuine desire to learn and develop within education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
