Sense Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for a school in Blackburn to support children with complex needs and remove barriers to learning.
You will work closely with pupils 1:1 or in small groups, provide emotional support, and collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to help every child feel safe, understood and capable.
Safeguarding is integral; an Enhanced DBS disclosure is required. The position is term-time only with weekly pay and a supportive team environment.
We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a school in Blackburn, who has a true desire to help young people and children with complex needs and to remove the barriers in which they may face.
This role is about more than supporting learning. It’s about building relationships, noticing the small wins and helping children and young people feel safe, understood and capable. You’ll work closely with students who have a range of SEND needs, offering calm support throughout the school day and adapting to everyone’s way of learning.
Monday – Friday
8.30am – 3.30pm
Term – time only

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
