Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SLD, MLD and additional needs
• Support pupils to access learning and participate fully in classroom activities
• Assist with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
• Encourage independence and develop pupils' confidence and life skills
• Provide positive, consistent and nurturing behavioural support
• Help pupils develop appropriate coping strategies and build positive relationships
• Support students with personal care and physical needs where required
• Follow individual education and support plans
• Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, therapists and other professionals
• Create a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment where every pupil can thrive

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and additional needs?

We're currently recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive specialist school in Basildon, providing personalised support to pupils with a range of learning, communication, sensory and behavioural needs.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SLD, MLD and additional needs
• Support pupils to access learning and participate fully in classroom activities
