Job summary

Axcis Education are working closely to support a well-regarded SEND provision in Torbay, who require a full time SEND Teacher from October 2026. This is delivering subjects - mostly at primary aged level - across the curriculum. The hours are 8.30-15.30, and the rate of pay will be between £175-£230 a day, depending on your teaching experience and qualifications.

For the right candidate, there is a strong possibility of the role becoming full-time and permanent.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with SEND, particularly SEMH and ADHD.
• Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students.
• Confidence in managing behaviour and delivering learning in a creative, flexible way.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or experience as a Cover Supervisor in a similar environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons across the curriculum for primary-aged pupils with SEND.
• Support students with MLD and ASD by delivering engaging, adaptive instruction.
• Maintain positive behaviour and nurture an inclusive learning environment.

About the Role:

• Start date: October 2026
• Days: Monday to Friday (Full Time)
• Location: Torbay, Devon
• Setting: SEND provision for students with MLD and ASD (supporting students with MLD).
• Salary: £175-£230

Requirements:

• Experience working with students with SEND, particularly SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and ADHD
• Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students
• Confidence in managing behaviour and delivering learning in a creative, flexible way
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or experience as a Cover Supervisor in a similar environment is highly desirable
