Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a SEND Teacher for a long-term, full-time placement in Salford, Greater Manchester. The role focuses on supporting pupils with a range of SEND and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons within an inclusive classroom.

The ideal candidate will have QTS or equivalent, experience with SEND, and strong classroom management and communication skills. You will collaborate with TAs, SENCOs, parents and professionals to promote pupil progress and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND or commitment to develop SEND teaching skills.
• Understanding of inclusive teaching and differentiation.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Patient, empathetic, resilient and passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils' individual learning needs and abilities.
• Support pupils with SEND, potentially including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and SLD.
• Develop and implement learning strategies to support IEPs and EHCPs.
• Create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Use effective behaviour management and positive reinforcement to encourage engagement.
• Monitor, assess and record pupil progress and adapt teaching methods.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, parents and other professionals.
• Promote pupils' communication, social skills, emotional wellbeing and independence.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding guidelines.
