Job description

SEND Teacher- Key Stage 3. Lower Moderate Learning Difficulties.
Uxbridge, West London
£230- £250 per day. PAYE. Paid weekly
Start Date: September 2026. Temp to Perm.

Smart Teachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established specialist school in Uxbridge that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their Key Stage 3 team from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The school provides a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and a range of additional needs, including Autism, speech and language difficulties, and associated social, emotional and communication needs. Class sizes are small, allowing staff to deliver a highly personalised curriculum and build strong, meaningful relationships with every pupil.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Key Stage 3 class of pupils with lower moderate learning difficulties, planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that promote independence, confidence and academic progress. You will work closely with a skilled team of Teaching Assistants and therapists to ensure every pupil receives the support they need to achieve their potential.

This role would suit a qualified teacher with experience in SEND, or a mainstream teacher looking to transition into specialist education who has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

The successful SEND Teacher will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Autism.
  • Be confident planning and delivering differentiated lessons that meet a range of learning needs.
  • Create a calm, engaging and inclusive classroom environment where pupils can thrive.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and families to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive specialist setting that places a strong emphasis on teamwork, professional development and helping every pupil develop the confidence and skills they need for life beyond the classroom.
