Supply Desk is seeking an SEN Teacher for our Foundation Stage team in Uxbridge. You will deliver play-based, pupil-centred learning for children aged 3–5 with a range of special educational needs.

Working with teaching assistants, therapists and families, you will adapt strategies to help each child reach their potential and foster confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in SEN settings, with focus on MLD/PMLD.
  • Ability to deliver child-centred, play-based learning.
  • Strong communication with families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative, child-centred lessons for 3–5 year olds with SEN.
  • Collaborate with TAs, therapists and school team to support development.
  • Create inclusive learning environment that promotes independence.

SEN Teacher – Foundation Stage MLD & PMLD

Location: Uxbridge

Start Date: Jan 2027

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time preferred, flexibility available

Salary: MPS–UPS + SEN Allowance

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver creative, child-centred learning experiences that meet the individual needs of pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage. You will use a play-based approach to encourage curiosity, communication, and social development while adapting teaching strategies to ensure every child can achieve their full potential.

Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and the wider school team, you will provide a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to succeed.

Essential Experience
  • SEN School or Specialist Provision
  • Teaching Assistant (TA) experience within an SEN setting
  • Mainstream school experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
