Job summary

SEND Inclusion Support is partnering with a specialist school in Wigan to recruit a SEND Teacher to join their small, dedicated team supporting pupils with complex needs.

The role offers a permanent or temp-to-perm contract, starts ASAP, and focuses on building relationships, delivering differentiated lessons, and creating a calm, structured learning environment.

Experience with complex SEND, autism or ADHD would be highly desirable; safeguarding checks including enhanced DBS apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with complex SEND.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils.
• Experience with autism or ADHD is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and calm classroom presence.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
• Adapting teaching around complex SEND and individual learning needs
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Creating a calm and predictable classroom environment
• Supporting communication, engagement and independence
• Understanding and responding to sensory and emotional regulation needs
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team
• Managing behaviour through clear, consistent and positive approaches
• Supporting pupils to make meaningful academic and personal progress
• Creating opportunities for pupils to enjoy learning and have fun
