Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in Sutton, South London, is recruiting a qualified SEND Teacher to support pupils aged 3–19 with Autism, SLD and PMLD in a specialist school. You will plan differentiated lessons and develop communication and life skills.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team on-site to monitor progress, support EHCPs and contribute to annual reviews. This temporary, full-time role offers £150–£200 per day.

Qualifications

• QTS – essential for the role.
• Experience teaching pupils with Autism, SLD or PMLD.
• Ability to adapt lessons to individual needs.
• Knowledge of EHCPs and safeguarding best practices.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated SEND lessons.
• Develop individualised learning programmes for each pupil.
• Support EHCPs, monitor progress, and contribute to reviews.
• Build communication, literacy, numeracy and life skills.
• Collaborate with therapists and teaching staff.
• Implement positive behaviour strategies and regulate emotions.
• Record pupil progress and identify development areas.
• Lead classroom staff to maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
• Build strong relationships with parents and external professionals.
