Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking a dedicated candidate to teach and support pupils in the upper classes of a SEND base, including pupils with Autism and ADHD, on a temporary basis. The role offers a daily rate of £120–£180 and a placement until the Christmas break, with ongoing support from a dedicated education recruitment team to assist with your placement and logistics.

You will build trusting, individual relationships, understand each pupil's needs and create a nurturing, safe learning

Qualifications

• Experience working in a SEND setting.
• Understanding behaviour as a form of communication.
• Ability to support pupils who may display challenging behaviours.
• Ability to build meaningful one-to-one relationships with pupils.
• Patient, empathetic, resilient and consistent in approach.
• Identify triggers and use proactive strategies to prevent escalation.
• Create an engaging, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Relationship-led approach prioritising understanding each child.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and supporting pupils within the upper classes of the SEND base.
• Support children with Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviours.
• Build strong, trusting and individual relationships with pupils.
• Understand each pupil's needs, triggers and communication styles.
• Use proactive, nurturing and consistent approaches to prevent dysregulation.
• Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment where every pupil feels understood and supported.
• Adapt learning and expectations to meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils.
