TeacherActive is recruiting a dedicated SEND Teacher to provide short and long term cover across Merseyside. You will work with pupils with diverse needs, building relationships and delivering tailored support.

The role offers immediate start in a supportive educational environment and requires resilience, patience and a nurture-forward approach to help pupils with autism, ADHD and emotional regulation.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching in a SEND setting.

We are urgently recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teacher to provide cover on both a short and long term basis across my schools in Merseyside.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who thrives on building meaningful relationships with pupils and understands the importance of a nurturing, individualised approach to supporting children with additional needs.

About the Role

You will be working with pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

Autism (ASC)

ADHD

Social, emotional and behavioural needs

Challenging behaviours and difficulties with emotional regulation.

The successful teacher will play a key role in creating a safe, structured and supportive learning environment, using positive and proactive strategies to minimise triggers and prevent dysregulation.

What We're Looking For

We want a teacher who:

Has previous experience working within a SEND setting.

Is confident supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviours.

Has a strong understanding of behaviour and emotional regulation.

Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils on an individual basis.

Is patient, empathetic, resilient and consistent.

Understands that getting to know each child, their individual needs and potential triggers is key to a successful learning environment.

This role is all about relationships! We are looking for someone who can connect with pupils, understand their individual needs and use a nurturing, relationship-led approach to prevent dysregulation and help them thrive.
