Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in Trafford is seeking a SEND Teacher to support pupils with PMLD and a range of additional needs. The role is part-time, Monday to Wednesday, commencing from late January 2027 for a long-term maternity cover in a welcoming SEND setting.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons, foster a safe learning environment and adapt approaches to meet individual pupil needs, while collaborating with a supportive Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with PMLD and additional needs.
• Experience with Autism/ASD, SLD or other complex needs.
• Ability to differentiate learning for complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, appropriately differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupils.
• Create a safe, supportive learning environment for pupils with PMLD and complex needs.
• Maintain strong classroom management and clear communication with staff.

Job Title: SEND Teacher

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a warm and welcoming SEND school in Trafford. The school supports children with a range of additional needs including PMLD, Autism / ASD and Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD, with a friendly and supportive Senior Leadership Team.

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Teacher from the end of January 2027 to work Monday to Wednesday on a long-term maternity cover basis. The successful SEND Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons while creating a safe, supportive learning environment that meets the individual needs of pupils with PMLD and other complex needs.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• Experience working with children and young people with PMLD
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASD, SLD or other additional needs
• Strong knowledge of adapting and differentiating learning for pupils with complex needs
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
