Job summary

Engage Education is recruiting an SEN Teacher to join specialist schools and SEND provisions in Liverpool. You will deliver engaging, personalised learning to pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, SLCN, and MLD/SLD/PMLD, with QTS or equivalent.

The role offers flexible hours (full-time, part-time, long-term & permanent opportunities) and competitive weekly pay, with safeguarding at the core and a commitment to professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons meeting individual learning needs.
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals.
  • Support pupils\' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Maintain safeguarding and wellbeing standards.

Salary: £150-£230 per day (dependent on experience and pay scale)

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you'll deliver engaging, personalised learning to pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate, Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties (MLD, SLD and PMLD)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.
  • Creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals.
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive outcomes for every learner.
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and wellbeing.
What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching children or young people with Special Educational Needs in either mainstream or specialist settings.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • The right to work in the UK.
