Job summary

Engage Education is seeking an SEN Teacher across Merseyside. You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with diverse needs, working with a multidisciplinary team to monitor progress.

Ideal candidates hold QTS or equivalent, with SEN experience and a patient, empathetic teaching style. DBS Update Service preferable, and UK work rights are required for these roles in Merseyside.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, SENCOs, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop personalised learning strategies and monitor pupil progress.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive outcomes for every learner.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you'll work with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, SENCOs, and multidisciplinary teams.
