Job summary

TeacherActive Limited in West London is seeking a SEND Teacher for a permanent, full-time position in the Paddington area. You will deliver differentiated lessons and build strong relationships with pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other learning needs.

The role focuses on personalised learning in a specialist provision, with small class sizes and collaboration with Assistants and senior leaders to support EHCP targets and pupil progress.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience in SEND or specialist provision.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Knowledge of personalised learning plans and differentiation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other complex needs.
• Deliver personalised learning programmes within small classroom settings.
• Implement positive behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement and progress.
• Monitor pupil development and support EHCP targets.
• Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEND specialists and senior leaders.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.

The successful SEND Teacher will:

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant recognised teaching qualification.
• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally within a specialist school or alternative provision.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Knowledge of differentiated teaching and individual learning plans.
• An understanding of trauma-informed approaches and SEMH needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, adaptable and resilient approach to teaching.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
