Job summary

TeacherActive are recruiting a SEND Teacher for a specialist provision in King's Cross, Central London. This permanent, full-time role focuses on delivering differentiated lessons to pupils with Autism, ADHD and SEMH, building strong relationships and supporting EHCP targets.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team in a setting with small class sizes and opportunities for professional development. Salary ranges £36,000–£55,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience with SEND in specialist or alternative provision.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Knowledge of differentiated teaching and IEPs.
• Trauma-informed approaches for SEMH needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other complex needs.
• Deliver personalised learning programmes in small class settings.
• Implement positive behaviour management strategies.
• Monitor pupil progress and EHCP targets.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, SEND specialists and leaders.
• Encourage pupil confidence, independence and positive attitudes.

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £36,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

The successful SEND Teacher will:

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other complex educational needs.
• Deliver personalised learning programmes within small classroom settings.
• Implement positive behaviour management strategies.
• Monitor pupil progress and support individual EHCP targets.
• Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEND specialists and senior leaders.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant recognised teaching qualification.
• Previous experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally within a specialist school or alternative provision.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Knowledge of differentiated teaching and individual learning plans.
• An understanding of trauma-informed approaches and SEMH needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, adaptable and resilient approach to teaching.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
