Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a welcoming primary school. You will help pupils develop confidence, independence, and key learning skills. You will work closely with teachers, implement individual education plans, support learning activities, and assist with personal care when required.

A patient, team‑oriented approach is essential. All staff must complete safeguarding training and a DBS check as part of our safeguarding

Job description

We are looking for a caring and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a welcoming Primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by helping students develop confidence, independence, and key learning skills.

Job Duties:

• Assist in the implementation of individual education plans for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• Support students in their learning activities both in group settings and on a one-to-one basis
• Provide assistance with personal care needs as required
• Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Experience working with children or individuals with SEND ( on schools setting or Personal experience)
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Education:

Relevant qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs is desirable but not mandatory.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Patience and empathy when working with students

Preferred Qualifications:

• Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

• Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday
• Work within a school environment
• Potential for additional training and development opportunities
• Reduced Classes (7-9 students)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
