Step Teachers Ltd is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school for pupils aged 4–11 in Wisbech. The role focuses on one-to-one SEND support, helping the pupil access learning and participate in activities within an inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Previous SEND experience is essential.
• One-to-one support experience is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare practices is important.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with SEND.
• Assist the pupil in accessing classroom learning and activities.
• Support communication, emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Implement strategies provided by the class teacher and SENDCo.
• Encourage independence and confidence.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
