Job summary

Axcis Education is seeking a caring SEND Teaching Assistant to support children across KS1 and KS2 with a range of needs including ASC, MLD/SLD and SLCN in a Warwick mainstream primary school.

The role involves supporting individual pupils and small groups, using Makaton, PECS, and visual timetables, and helping with routines and transitions while assisting the teacher and SENCO to deliver differentiated activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism or learning difficulties.
• Understanding of child development in a primary setting.
• Patience, nurturing and resilient attitude with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Support individual pupils and small groups across KS1/KS2.
• Use visual timetables, Makaton and PECS to aid learning and communication.
• Help manage routines, transitions and emotional regulation.
• Assist the class teacher and SENCO with differentiated activities.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and confidence in the classroom.
