Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Liverpool city centre. The role is part-time with an immediate start, supporting pupils with MLD, SLD and PMLD, and providing personal care where needed.

You will work closely with teaching staff to create a safe, engaging and nurturing learning environment, building positive relationships with pupils and classmates.

Qualifications

• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable).
• Experience with SEND including MLD/SLD/PMLD is essential.
• Ability to provide personal care when required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school based in Liverpool city centre, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The school is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment, offering weekly CPD training and excellent opportunities for professional development and progression into Senior Leadership Team (SLT) roles.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND TA on a part-time basis, with an immediate start available. The successful SEND TA will support pupils with a variety of complex learning needs, providing personal care where required, building positive relationships and working closely with teaching staff to create a safe, engaging and nurturing learning environment.

The successful SEND TA will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable)
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, including MLD, SLD and PMLD
• Experience or willingness to provide personal care to pupils with additional needs
• The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting children with complex needs
