Job summary

Envision Education in Bourne End is seeking a SEND Support Teaching Assistant for an immediate start. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm, supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and helping them access the curriculum.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to support learning, communication and emotional development, both inside and outside the classroom, in a welcoming school community.

Qualifications

• Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm (on-site).
• Genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
• Previous experience with children/SEND is desirable but not essential.
• Patient, caring and understanding approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to commute to Bourne End.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils with learning, development and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with class teacher and SEND team to meet individual needs.
• Assist pupils with communication, social and emotional development.
• Support pupils with a range of additional learning, behavioural and communication needs.
• Encourage pupil confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Adapt activities to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Support pupils inside and outside the classroom.
