Job summary

Milk Education is partnering with a 5-19 SEND school in Blyth to recruit a SEND Support Assistant. You will provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support to teenagers with SEND within a specialist setting.

The successful candidate will adapt activities to individual needs, build positive relationships and work with the SENDCo and teachers to implement personalised learning strategies, promoting a calm and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
• Enhanced DBS on update service or willing to apply.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach to support learners.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND.
• Support students with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.
• Adapt learning activities to individual needs.
• Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and resilience.
• Collaborate with SENDCo, teachers and staff to deliver personalised learning.
• Promote a calm, safe, inclusive learning environment.
