Milk Education is recruiting a SEND Support Assistant for a 2-19 SEND school in Ashington to work with children with various needs. The role runs 8.30am-3.30pm, Monday to Friday, starting November 2026, in a specialist educational setting.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, adapting activities and building positive relationships to help pupils reach their potential. Training and safeguarding are emphasised.

Formación

• Solid numeracy and literacy skills emphasized in the role.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach to supporting pupils.
• Ability to work proactively both independently and in a team.
• Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to apply.

Responsabilidades

• Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support for students with diverse SEND needs.
• Support learners with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and promote engagement.
• Build positive relationships to encourage confidence and resilience.
• Collaborate with SENDCo, teachers and staff to implement personalised strategies.
• Promote a calm, safe, inclusive learning environment where all pupils can succeed.
