Job summary

Milk Education is partnered with a 5-19 SEND school in Blyth, Northumberland, seeking a SEND Support Assistant to work with teenagers with SEND in a specialist setting.

You will provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support, help students with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs, and adapt activities to individual learning goals, while working closely with the SENDCo and school staff to promote wellbeing and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Experience in an educational setting is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is beneficial.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Calm, empathetic approach with the ability to adapt.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support for students.
• Support students with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language and SEMH.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and resilience.
• Collaborate with SENDCo, teachers and staff to implement learning strategies.
• Promote a calm, safe, inclusive learning environment.
