Job summary

Bradford College is hiring a SEND Study Support Mentor in its Disability Services department. The role supports high needs students on FE study programmes, both in-class and out-of-class, with targeted intervention and transition activities.

You will manage a caseload, collate progress data and contribute to reviews of EHC Plans. This term-time role is 15 hours per week across 38 weeks per year, offering the chance to support learners and contribute to an inclusive learning environment with

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with disabilities/learning difficulties in post-16 education.
• Ability to write reports and summarise key information.
• Knowledge of safeguarding issues is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist non-teaching in-class support for high needs learners.
• Provide 1:1 in-class and out-of-class support for high needs learners.
• Assist with transition activities from schools to college and attendance at annual reviews.
• Support the preparing for adulthood agenda and promote independence.
• Liaise with employers and organisations to arrange placements.
• Conduct job analysis to ensure placements suit students.
