Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Student Mentor to support children and young people with SEND in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. The role runs long-term from September, with tailored one-to-one and small group interventions to help pupils build confidence and education engagement.

Candidates with TEFL/TESOL, youth leadership or coaching backgrounds are encouraged, as communication, motivation and relationship-building are highly transferable to this role.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people through education, youth work, mentoring or coaching.
• Experience supporting SEND, SEMH or barriers to learning is desirable.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND through tailored one-to-one and small group interventions.
• Assist with social and emotional development and engagement in education.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment and wellbeing support.
