Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Student Mentor in Bristol and South Gloucestershire to support pupils with SEND through tailored one-to-one and small group interventions from September. The role emphasizes strong communication, motivation and relationship-building, drawing on TEFL/TESOL, youth leadership or sports coaching backgrounds.

You will work with a dedicated team, enjoy market-leading rates of pay and access CPD and development opportunities, with PAYE payroll and a friendly onboarding

Qualifications

Experience working with children or young people in education or related roles.
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs is desirable.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to adapt approach to meet individual pupils' needs.
Patient, resilient, empathetic and proactive.
Willingness to support pupils' educational, social and emotional development.

Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
Support pupils with SEND to overcome barriers to learning.
Contribute to engaging and supportive classroom environments.
Attend CPD courses and contribute to ongoing development.
