Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Student Mentor for Bristol and South Gloucestershire, starting in September. The role involves providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND, helping them build confidence, independence and positive engagement with education.

Ideal candidates may have TEFL/TESOL, youth work or coaching backgrounds. The position offers market leading pay rates and ongoing CPD, with full onboarding support from a 24/7 consultant team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people through education, TEFL/TESOL, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching or other relevant support roles.
• Experience supporting young people with SEND, SEMH, behavioural needs or barriers to learning is desirable.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to adapt their approach to meet individual pupils' needs.
• A patient, resilient, empathetic and proactive approach.
• A willingness to support pupils with their educational, social and emotional development.
