Job summary

Spotland Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with complex SEND needs within a primary setting. A valid NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or EYFS-equivalent) is required, with specialist SEND training desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with complex SEND needs in an educational setting.
• NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent per EYFS requirements).
• Specialist training/experience in key SEND areas such as communication & interaction, cognition & learning, SEMH, sensory or physical needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a hub/room provision, working directly with a group of pupils with SEND.
• Plan for and deliver/support a curriculum meeting a range of needs.
• Identify, implement and review interventions to help pupils meet EHC plan outcomes or personal targets.
• Coach, model practice and support staff development.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, other professionals and external agencies.
