TeacherActive is seeking an exceptional SEND Teaching Assistant or HLTA to support pupils with SEND in specialist London schools. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and the SEND team to deliver high-quality learning support and to promote independence and an inclusive classroom.

The ideal candidate has a Level 2/3 TA qualification or HLTA status, experience with Autism, SLD/MLD/PMLD and SEMH, and excellent behaviour management and communication skills.

Qualificações

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA in a specialist SEND setting.
• A Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification, HLTA status or equivalent experience.
• Strong SEND knowledge and ability to support learners with complex needs.
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism, SLD, MLD, PMLD or SEMH.
• Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, EHCPs and inclusive education.

Responsabilidades

• Provide exceptional classroom support to pupils with a range of SEND needs.
• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with tailored approaches.
• Assist with engaging, differentiated and sensory-based activities.
• Support pupils with Autism, SLD, MLD, PMLD, SEMH and complex needs.
• Implement EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Support pupils with communication difficulties using Makaton, PECS, or AAC where appropriate.
• Assist with personal care, mobility and physical support where required.
• Promote independence, confidence, social development and life skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and the SEND team.
• Lead planned activities and provide classroom cover for HLTA roles.
