Job summary

Just Teachers Ltd seeks a dedicated teaching assistant to support pupils in a SEND-focused setting. The role centres on delivering structured lessons, differentiating tasks, and using visual aids and modelling to promote understanding and engagement for all age groups.

You will work with teachers to reinforce concepts, foster calm, consistent learning, and help learners develop independence and confidence across the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting or delivering structured learning activities for children or young people in schools, tutoring, care, clubs, or other educational settings.
• Understanding of special educational needs and how to adapt support to help pupils access learning effectively.
• Confidence using varied teaching and learning approaches, including explaining tasks clearly and modelling steps.
• Training or qualifications such as Level 2 Teaching Assistant, Childcare, Youth Work, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of differentiated and accessible lessons by working alongside teaching staff to break down tasks and scaffold learning.
• Reinforce key concepts so pupils with SEND can confidently engage with the curriculum.
• Use structured, supportive strategies—including visual aids, clear instructions, modelling, and hands-on activities—to promote participation and maintain focus.
• Encourage positive learning behaviours by offering calm, consistent support, helping pupils regulate, and guiding them back into learning when needed.
