Qualifications

• A qualified teacher with relevant secondary, FE, college, sixth form or post-16 teaching experience
• Passionate about teaching and supporting young people aged 16-18
• Keen to develop SEND specialist practice

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured and differentiated lessons
• Teach and support young people aged 16-18
• Adapt teaching to meet a range of abilities and needs
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Monitor, assess and record pupil progress
• Set clear learning objectives and support individual potential
• Build positive, professional relationships with learners
• Manage behaviour positively and consistently
• Support social, emotional and educational development
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and colleagues to support learning
• Use varied teaching strategies to engage diverse learners
• Communicate with parents, carers and professionals as appropriate
• Contribute to individual education and support plans where required
• Help learners develop skills and confidence for next steps
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and community
