Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is seeking a passionate Primary Teacher to join an independent school in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, working with pupils aged 11–19 with SEND and SEMH needs. The role emphasizes inclusive education, small class sizes (~5) and strong support from a Teacher + TA team.

You will deliver a broad curriculum, differentiate lessons and monitor progress within EHCP outcomes, building nurturing relationships and contributing to pupil development.

Qualifications

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and primary teaching experience.
• Experience with SEND/SEN/SEMH pupils desirable.
• Able to differentiate learning across the curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across the curriculum
• Teach pupils aged 11–19 with SEND and SEMH needs
• Adapt teaching to individual learning needs, abilities and EHCP outcomes
• Create a calm, positive and nurturing classroom environment
• Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team
• Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and personal development
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individual learning plans
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school
