Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming primary school in Runcorn to appoint a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant with SEND and SEMH experience. The role is full-time and temporary, starting September 2026, supporting pupils and working with the SENCO.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist with tailored learning activities, monitor progress, and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in a primary school setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEND/SEMH needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND/SEMH.
• Support pupils inside and outside the classroom to promote engagement.
• Assist planning and delivery of tailored learning activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews and support plans.
• Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
