Job summary

Justteachers Ltd seeks a compassionate Primary Teacher to join a SEND Nurture Provision in a mainstream primary school in Castleford from September 2026. This part-time role is 3 days per week on a long-term supply basis, supporting pupils with SEND to access tailored learning experiences.

You will deliver differentiated lessons, monitor progress, and work with SENCOs, staff and parents to meet individual needs, fostering an inclusive, nurturing environment and promoting holistic development.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Experience teaching primary pupils including those with SEND
• Knowledge of SEND strategies and inclusive teaching practices
• Two education or school-based references
• Experience in a nurture provision or supporting pupils with SEMH is desirable
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of pupils within the SEND Nurture Provision.


• Create a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes positive outcomes.


• Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress and development.


• Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and parents to meet individual pupil needs.


• Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development through targeted interventions and strategies.

Pre-requisites

• Relevant teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).


• Proven experience of teaching primary-aged pupils, including those with SEND needs.


• Strong knowledge of SEND strategies, inclusive teaching practices, and differentiated learning approaches.


• Two education or school-based references.


• Experience working within a nurture provision or supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs is desirable.


• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.


• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.


• Right to work in the UK.
