Job summary

Suffolk New College is seeking a SEND Officer on a fixed-term maternity cover, on-site. You will provide an outstanding service for students with SEND and work alongside peers to help learners access education and progress toward their outcomes.

You will require a relevant degree or equivalent experience, solid knowledge of the 0-25 SEND Code of Practice (2014), and the ability to collaborate with families, curriculum teams and external agencies.

Salary £30,168 per annum pro rata

29.6 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

(Working 29.6 hours per week, for 52 weeks per year equates to a salary of £24,134.4 per annum)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the role of a SEND Officer to provide an outstanding service for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). If you are passionate about removing barriers for young people and supporting them to achieve their goals, we would love to hear from you.

You will be working alongside peer SEND Officers within the dedicated team who collectively work together to ensure that learners with identified additional learning needs are able to access their education to the best of their ability and make progress towards achieving their outcomes.

You will be working closely with young people and families, curriculum teams and external agencies, with a commitment to ensuring the young person’s views and wishes are central to the process and that timeframes are being met.

You will have good knowledge and understanding of the requirements for education providers arising from the 0-25 SEND Code of Practice (2014), and a relevant degree or equivalent in demonstrable experience.
