Job summary

Suffolk New College is seeking a SEND Officer on-site to provide an outstanding service for students with special educational needs and disabilities, helping remove barriers to learning.

You will work with peer SEND Officers, with curriculum teams and external agencies, ensuring young people’s views and timelines are central to processes.

Salary is £30,168 per annum pro rata (29.6 hours/week, 52 weeks/year). Closing date 4 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2014) and related education requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across teams and external partners.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive SEND team.

Responsibilities

• Provide an outstanding service for students with SEND and remove barriers to learning.
• Collaborate with families, curriculum teams and external agencies to support learners.
• Ensure the views and timescales of young people are central to processes and decisions.
