Job summary

Suffolk New College is seeking a SEND Officer on a fixed-term maternity cover, on-site. You will provide an outstanding service for students with SEND and work alongside peers to help learners access education and progress toward their outcomes.

You will require a relevant degree or equivalent experience, solid knowledge of the 0-25 SEND Code of Practice (2014), and the ability to collaborate with families, curriculum teams and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience and understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (0-25, 2014).
• Ability to work with families, curriculum teams and external agencies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide SEND support to students to access education and progress.
• Work with peers to ensure learners’ views are central to processes and timelines.
• Engage with young people, families and external partners to support outcomes.
