Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is recruiting a Learning Support Practitioner to join the prison education team on-site at HMP Littlehey. You will provide essential one-to-one and small group support to adult learners with SEND/ALN, helping them access the curriculum and progress toward qualifications.

You will work alongside tutors, healthcare teams, and neurodiversity specialists, documenting progress and ensuring compliance with MoJ systems and safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above are required.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND/ALN and effective support strategies.
• Strong organizational skills to manage a diverse caseload and MoJ records.
• Proactive, empathetic approach with good communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored in-class and one-to-one support for learners with SEND/ALN.
• Utilize assessment tools to build and review course-specific support plans.
• Collaborate with tutors, prison staff, healthcare practitioners, and neurodiversity specialists.
• Record and manage support documentation within MoJ systems with care and accuracy.
• Contribute to an inclusive learning space and whole-prison approach to ALN.
