Job summary

Dovetail and Slate seeks a Learning Support Practitioner to assist adult learners with SEND/ALN at HMP Littlehey. You will deliver tailored support in class and one-to-one sessions, helping learners access the curriculum and build confidence for qualification achievement.

Join a prison education team on-site, coordinating with tutors, healthcare, and neurodiversity specialists, using Do IT Profiler for planning and MoJ systems for documentation.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
• Proven experience supporting individuals with SEND or ALN.
• Strong admin and IT skills; manage MoJ records.
• Excellent communication; proactive, empathetic and resilient.
• Desirable Level 3 qualification in Learning Disabilities; prison/EIF experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-class and one-to-one support for learners with SEND or ALN.
• Create and review course-specific support plans using tools like Do IT Profiler.
• Collaborate with tutors, prison staff, healthcare teams to ensure adjustments.
• Record and manage support documentation in MoJ systems, ensuring compliance.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive learning space and assist with cover.
