Job summary

Think FE is partnering with a well-established college in the West Midlands to recruit Learning Support Practitioners who assist students with SEND across the provision. You will help learners access their studies and maximize their time at college.

The role involves one-to-one support inside and outside the classroom, collaborating with teaching staff, and promoting an encouraging, inclusive learning atmosphere to boost confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
• Experience working with SEND learners.
• A relevant qualification in SEND, Learning Support, Childcare or a related area.
• A patient, supportive and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive professional relationships with young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for students with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Support students during classroom-based activities.
• Help learners remain engaged, focused and confident in their studies.
• Support students outside the classroom where required.
• Encourage independence while providing appropriate individual support.
• Work closely with teaching staff and other support professionals.
• Help create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
