Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for a 16+ provision in Bromley, BR2. You will support students aged 16+ with complex needs, contributing to independence, life skills, and education access.

The role involves 1:1 and group support in a caring, proactive environment, with emphasis on mobility assistance and maintaining a calm, patient approach in a busy setting. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEND or similar transferable experience.
• Positive personality and a genuine passion for helping others.
• Active, energetic and comfortable supporting students with physical needs.
• Confident assisting with mobility support, including pushing wheelchairs when required.
• Calm, patient and proactive in a busy learning environment.
• Encourage independence by supporting students to achieve tasks rather than doing them for them.
• Use positive reinforcement and promote confidence and self-esteem.

Responsibilities

• Support young adults with a variety of additional needs to access education and develop life skills.
• Help students access the curriculum and participate in activities across a broad learning program.
• Assist with mobility and positioning as required and support 1:1 or group sessions.
• Promote independence and confidence through encouragement and task completion guidance.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:30pm

Are you passionate about supporting young people with SEND and helping them achieve greater independence? We are recruiting enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join a welcoming specialist provision in Bromley, supporting students aged 16+ with a range of complex needs. We are looking for both 1:1 and group support staff who are caring, proactive, and committed to making a positive impact.

The Role

You will support young adults with a variety of additional needs, helping them access education, develop life skills, and build confidence as they prepare for adulthood.

Students may have needs including:

• Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
• Medical needs
• Down’s Syndrome
• Cerebral Palsy
• Physical disabilities and mobility needs
• Wheelchair users

Learning Environment & Activities

Students take part in a broad and engaging curriculum designed to prepare them for life beyond education, including:

• Independent living skills
• Creative activities such as drama, arts, and crafts
• Performances and school events
• Forest School sessions
• Community activities and work placements
