Job summary

Walton Holymoorside Primary School is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support learning for children with SEND and to assist across the class. The role includes working with individuals and small groups, preparing resources, and promoting a caring, inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will have solid school experience, GCSEs in English and Maths (grade 4 or above), and a proactive, collaborative approach to engaging pupils and supporting teachers.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school environment is essential.
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) essential.
• Experience planning and delivering learning activities essential.
• Ability to lead playground activities.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills essential.
• Ability to build effective relationships with pupils and adults essential.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual children, including those with SEND and EHCPs.
• Support small groups and general class activities.
• Prepare learning materials and adapt teaching support to pupils' needs.
• Look after children's welfare and assist with first aid duties.
• Lead intervention groups.
• Promote safeguarding and inclusive practices.
