Job summary

Friars Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our busy team. You will support children with SEND in a school setting, working with individuals or small groups under the direction of teaching staff, and help maintain high standards in literacy and numeracy.

This part-time, term-time role offers a friendly, supportive environment, professional development, and opportunities for cross-phase work within Portico Academy Trust.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school setting.
• Experience supporting children with specific learning needs and social/emotional behaviours.
• Ability to work with individuals or small groups under teaching staff.
• Promote inclusion and ensure access to learning with clear explanations and visuals.
• Ability to implement planned activities and adjust to pupil responses.
• Support high standards in literacy and numeracy.
• Monitor and record pupil activities.
• Be a flexible, energetic team member.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning support to children with SEND as part of the teaching team.
• Deliver planned activities and adapt tasks to pupil response.
• Promote inclusion and access to learning in and out of the classroom.
• Monitor pupil progress and record observations.
