Job summary

Milk Education is actively recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a SEND school in Farnborough, Hampshire. The role focuses on supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally, while helping maintain a positive learning environment.

The successful candidate will assist during lessons, provide 1:1 and small group support, help with lesson preparation, and promote pupil confidence and resilience. Start date is ASAP with daily pay of £108–£115.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD, or additional needs is beneficial.
• Patient, supportive, and approachable.
• Confident working with pupils of different abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to follow instructions while also using initiative.
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to help reinforce learning.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND where required.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.
• Help pupils access the curriculum through tailored support and encouragement.
• Support pupils during wider school activities, routines, and transitions.
