Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly Surrey schools. You will support pupils during lessons, provide 1:1 and small group assistance, and help with classroom organisation, enabling every child to access the curriculum with confidence.

Ideal candidates are patient, reliable and enthusiastic about pupil development, with experience around children or SEND. Graduates are encouraged to apply to gain school-based experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND/SEMH/ASD or additional needs is beneficial.
• Patient, supportive and approachable.
• Confident working with pupils of different abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to follow instructions while using initiative.
• Graduates looking to gain school-based experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to reinforce learning.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and organisation.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and resilience.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs including SEND.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and wellbeing.
• Help pupils access the curriculum through tailored support.
• Support pupils during wider school activities and transitions.
