Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a compassionate and experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in BD22, Bradford. The role starts September 2026 and is full-time, long-term with potential for permanent placement.

The successful candidate will support pupils with complex additional needs, helping with learning, wellbeing and day-to-day needs. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with personal care when required, and work closely with teachers to

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND is essential.
• Experience providing personal care is essential.
• Caring, patient and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Experience with Autism, PMLD, communication needs, sensory needs or complex learning difficulties would be advantageous.
• Available to work full-time from September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils with learning, communication, independence and emotional development.
• Provide personal care, including toileting and intimate care, where required.
• Support pupils with complex learning and developmental needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Use appropriate communication, sensory and behavioural strategies.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with teachers and other staff to meet individual needs.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
