Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a compassionate and experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in BD22, Bradford. The role starts September 2026 and is full-time, long-term with potential for permanent placement.

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND is essential.
• Experience providing personal care is essential.
• Caring, patient and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Experience with Autism, PMLD, communication needs, sensory needs or complex learning difficulties would be advantageous.
• Available to work full-time from September 2026.

Milk Education is recruiting a compassionate and experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in BD22, Bradford.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has experience supporting children or young people with complex additional needs and is confident providing personal care. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils with their learning, development, wellbeing and day-to-day needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEND.
• Support pupils with their learning, communication, independence and emotional development.
• Provide personal care, including toileting and intimate care, where required.
• Support pupils with complex learning and developmental needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Use appropriate communication, sensory and behavioural strategies.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with teachers and other support staff to meet individual needs.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

About You

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is essential.
• Previous experience providing personal care is essential.
• Caring, patient and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Confident supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Able to build positive relationships and remain calm in challenging situations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, proactive and committed to supporting pupils consistently.
• Experience with Autism, PMLD, communication needs, sensory needs or complex learning difficulties would be advantageous.
• Available to work full-time from September 2026.
