Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistants to support learners within a specialist post-16 setting in Harrogate from September. This is a long-term role with potential for permanent placement.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, adapting activities to EHCP outcomes and helping learners develop independence, communication and life skills while collaborating with teaching staff and therapists.

Qualifications

  • Caring, patient and resilient.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Previous experience within education, care or support work is desirable.
  • Graduates in Psychology, Education, Health & Social Care encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of autism or learning disabilities beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support learners 1:1 and in small groups throughout the college day.

SEND Learning Support Assistant

Location: Harrogate
Start:ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term (with potential for permanent placement)

Milk Education is recruiting compassionate and dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistants to support learners within a specialist post-16 educational setting in Harrogate from September. The setting provides a highly inclusive environment for young people with a range of additional needs, helping them to develop academically, socially and independently as they prepare for adulthood.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and making a lasting impact on their education and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support learners on a 1:1 and small group basis throughout the college day.
  • Assist with personalised learning activities tailored to individual EHCP outcomes.
  • Encourage independence, communication and confidence both in and out of the classroom.
  • Support learners with life skills, employability activities and community-based learning where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement.
