Job Description:

Academics Bristol is recruiting for SEND Learning Support Assistants who are compassionate, highly motivated, and have prior experience working with children with severe or profound learning difficulties and complex needs, to work within a specialist SEN school in Hartcliffe – BS13.

About the role

  • £90 - £120 per day, depending on experience
  • Start ASAP - Term time only
  • Ongoing, full-time role with children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 (aged 4 – 7)
  • Supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties and challenging behaviour, many with additional disabilities such as physical, visual, or hearing impairments.
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment to support student engagement and progress.
  • Supporting students with physical needs, including personal care, mobility, and feeding, while ensuring their dignity and safety.

The role requires physical resilience and emotional strength due to its nature.

What we’re looking for from you

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).
  • Knowledge of communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
